Assistant Engineer (Civil) in Tamil Nadu Highways Engineering Service - 213 Posts - Basic Pay 15600 Grade Pay 5400 in Pay Band III category - BE / BTech Civil Engineering or Section A and Section B of the Institution Examinations under Civil Engineering Branch (10+2+4) or (10+3+4) - Age GEN / UR Candidates 30 years ; all others no age limit.

Pattern of Exam :
Degree Standard Civil Engineering  200 MCQ for 300 marks ; 3 hours
Degree Standard General Knowledge  100 MCQ
General Aptitude  75 MCQ
Mental Ability  25 MCQ
(GK+GA+MA total 200 questions 200 marks) ; 2 hours
Personal Interview / Oral Test 70 Marks 
Total Marks (written and oral test) 570
Minimum qualifying marks 228 for UR candidates ; 171 for all others
